Very predictable result when third ranked Koscian (14-6) beat at home 10th ranked Trefl II Sopot (9-12) 89-71 on Saturday. Koscian made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Trefl II Sopot turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Milosz Sroczynski (195-90) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Pawel Ciazkowski (190-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Koscian players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Sebastian Walda (195-0) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Patryk Pulkotycki (203-0) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Koscian. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Asseco II. Loser Trefl II Sopot keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Koscian will face Asseco II (#3) in Gdynia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Trefl II Sopot will play at home against Miedzychod (#4) and hope to win that game.
