Regular Season Round 13: Liffey Celtics - DCU Mercy 61-57

An interesting game for Liffey Celtics (9-2) which hosted in Kildare their biggest opponent DCU Mercy (8-3). First ranked Liffey Celtics managed to get a 4-point victory 61-57. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Devon Brookshire (188-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Jazmen Boone (173, college: William & Mary) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Liffey Celtics players scored in double figures. American forward Alexandra Masaquel (178, college: William & Mary) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and center Rachel Huijsdens (187-99) added 4 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for DCU Mercy. DCU Mercy's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Liffey Celtics have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-2 record. DCU Mercy at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Liffey Celtics are looking forward to face Brunell (#5) in Cork in the next round. DCU Mercy will play on the road against IT Carlow and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
