Regular Season Round 34: Cyberdyne IR - Kanazawa Sam. 81-71

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Tsukuba where one of their biggest challengers Kanazawa Sam. (17-16) was defeated by fourth ranked Cyberdyne IR (16-17) 81-71 on Saturday. Cyberdyne IR made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Cyberdyne IR outrebounded Kanazawa Sam. 40-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Cyberdyne IR players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Kosovan forward Drilon Hajrizi (203-91) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cyberdyne IR maintains fourth position with 16-17 record. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. keeps the third place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
