Everything went according to plan when second ranked Kumamoto V. (24-9) outscored at home 5th ranked Kagawa FA (15-17) 88-53 on Saturday. Kumamoto V. had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Tasuku Namizato (172-87) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists during the contest. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Tsukuba Tsukuba (188-92) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-9 record having just three point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the fifth place with 17 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face again Kagawa FA (#5) in Takamatsu in the next round.
