Regular Season Round 21: Pelplin - Goleniow 109-74

Leader Pelplin delivered the twentieth victory. This time they crushed 14th ranked Goleniow (1-16) 109-74 in Pelpin. Pelplin dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Goleniow's 44. They outrebounded Goleniow 45-24 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pelplin players were unselfish on offense dishing 37 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Goleniow's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Marcin Chudy (188-86) nailed 19 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side and swingman Slawomir Sikora (193-86, agency: Promotex) accounted for 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Pelplin players scored in double figures. Bartlomiej Berdzik (196-93) came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds and Mateusz Pryc (190-98) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for Goleniow in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pelplin (20-1) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A. Goleniow lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Pelplin's next round opponent will be Gniezno (#7) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. Goleniow will play against Suchy Las (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
