Regular Season Round 21: Hutnik W-wa - Legia 2 W-wa 100-55

There was no surprise in Warszawa where 13th ranked Legia 2 W-wa (2-16) was crushed by seventh ranked Hutnik W-wa (10-9) 100-55 on Saturday. Hutnik W-wa dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Legia 2 W-wa's 26. Hutnik W-wa forced 20 Legia 2 W-wa turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hutnik W-wa looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Legia 2 W-wa's players. The best player for the winners was guard Roman Janik (187-95) who scored 26 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Grzegorz Malewski (200-84) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists. Four Hutnik W-wa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Patryk Kedel (200-99) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Piotr-Lukasz Aderek (192-98) added 7 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hutnik W-wa. Newly promoted Hutnik W-wa maintains seventh place in Group B with 10-9 record. Legia 2 W-wa lost their fifth game in a row. Legia 2 W-wa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Hutnik W-wa will face higher ranked Stal SW (#5) in Stalowa Wola in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Legia 2 W-wa's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Warszawa Dziki Wwa.
