Regular Season Round 17: Adareva - Adelantados 70-84

Very predictable result in Laguna where fourth ranked Adelantados (12-5) defeated 13th ranked Adareva (3-14) 84-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Adelantados. Adareva was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Jamaican-American power forward Yanique Gordon (193-91, college: Cent.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Nigerian guard Adaeze Alaeze-Dinma (178-94, college: VCU) chipped in 15 points. Four Adelantados players scored in double figures. American forward TyDesheaia Pool (185, college: SE Louisiana) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and forward Eva Serra (183-83) scored 22 points. Adareva's coach Maria Sosa rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Adelantados. They maintain fourth place in Group B with 12-5 record, which they share with Real Canoe. Adareva lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Adelantados will face Distrito Olimpico (#10) in Madrid in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Adareva will play on the road against Alcobendas and hope to win that game.
