There was a surprise result in Barcelona where thirteenth ranked Segle XXI (3-14) defeated higher ranked Lima-Horta (8-9) 55-48 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 55-48. Aixa Wone (184-0) stepped up and scored 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Helena Pueyo (182-1) chipped in 6 points and 9 rebounds. Segle XXI's coach Ivan Torinos used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Montse Pujolreu responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Elena Silva (173-92) scored 12 points. Segle XXI maintains thirteenth place in Group A with 3-14 record. Loser Lima-Horta keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Segle XXI will face higher ranked GDKO Bizkaia (#3) in Galdakao in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
