Very expected game when 10th ranked UU-Korihait (6-20) was crushed on the road by second ranked Helsinki Seagulls (17-10) 110-80 on Saturday. The game without a history. Helsinki Seagulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Helsinki Seagulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was international Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Timo Heinonen (198-81, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sean OBrien (198-94, college: S.Illinois) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kevin Bracy-Davis (201, college: Davis & Elkins) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Helsinki Seagulls maintains second position with 17-10 record having eight points less than leader Salon Vilpas. Loser UU-Korihait keeps the tenth place with 20 games lost. Helsinki Seagulls will meet BC Nokia (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. UU-Korihait will play against the league's leader Salon Vilpas and hope to secure a win.
