Regular Season Round 18: Le Mans - Monaco 70-81

Everything went according to plan when fourteenth ranked Monaco (8-10) beat on the road 17th ranked Le Mans (3-15) 81-70 on Saturday. Monaco dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Le Mans' 32. Monaco forced 22 Le Mans turnovers. Le Mans was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Boukhary Cissoko scored 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Romain Poinas (203-98, agency: Two Points) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Mathieu Nzita (185-99) with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Jacques Eyoum (196-0) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Le Mans' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Monaco moved-up to thirteenth place. Le Mans lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. Monaco will face higher ranked Gravelines (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Le Mans will play against Limoges (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
