Regular Season Round 19: Cagliari Academy - Latina Basket 84-97

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Latina Basket and 9th ranked Cagliari Academy had identical 9-9 record. But Cagliari Academy was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Latina 97-84 on Saturday night. Latina Basket made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Cagliari Academy only scored four points from the stripe. American players dominated the game. Quite impressive performance for swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Marcus Keene (180-95, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) added 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) in the effort for Cagliari Academy. Five Latina Basket and four Cagliari Academy players scored in double figures. Latina Basket (10-9) moved-up to seventh place in A2. Newly promoted Cagliari Academy dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Latina Basket will face higher ranked Legnano (#4) in Castellanza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cagliari Academy will play on the road against Viola RC (#8) in Reggio Calabria and hope to win that game.
