Regular Season Round 22: Teguise - Rivas 53-75

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Teguise (2-13) was rolled over at home by ninth ranked Rivas (7-8) 75-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rivas. Teguise was better in second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Guillermo Ordas (183-92) scored 14 points to lead the charge for the winners and Eduardo Martinez (193-96) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Latvian guard Dzeiks-Eduards Krumins (186-97) responded with 14 points and power forward Alejandro Machin (201-83) scored 11 points. Rivas maintains ninth position in Group B with 7-8 record. Teguise lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 13 games lost. Rivas will face higher ranked Villarrobledo (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Teguise will play against Liceo Frances (#15) in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
