Regular Season Round 22: Lliria - L Alfas 92-99

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked L Alfas (11-5) defeated on the road 8th ranked Lliria (6-9) 99-92 on Saturday. L Alfas made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Lliria only scored nine points from the stripe. Lliria was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Udun Osakue (198, college: San Francisco St.) scored 30 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Kentrall Brooks (203, college: Marist) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four L Alfas players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward David Guardia (200-90) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and point guard Vicente Faubel (182-83) scored 21 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. L Alfas have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group E with 11-5 record. Loser Lliria dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. L Alfas will face league's second-placed UCAM Murcia II at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Lliria will play against Valencia-2 (#3) and hope to win that game.
