Regular Season Round 19: Strasbourg - Le Portel 85-62
Date: February 3, 2018
The game between third ranked SIG Strasbourg (13-6) and 8th ranked Le Portel (9-10) in Strasbourg on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. SIG Strasbourg outscored guests from Le Portel 85-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Le Portel. The game was mostly controlled by SIG Strasbourg. Le Portel was better in fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American-Polish guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) answered with 16 points and 8 assists and the other American import power forward Franklin Hassell (205-88, college: ODU) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Le Portel. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SIG Strasbourg have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Le Mans. Loser Le Portel keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. SIG Strasbourg will face Cholet Basket (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Le Portel will play against JSF Nanterre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
