There was a small surprise in Boulogne-sur-Mer where ninth ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (10-10) defeated 6th ranked La Charite (10-10) 86-75 on Saturday. They outrebounded La Charite 45-34 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists and naturalized Algerian Mehdi Cheriet (204-87, college: San Diego St.) who added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. American point guard Deremy Geiger (181-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Kevin Thalien (190-92) scored 18 points and 4 assists. SO Maritime Boulogne moved-up to seventh place, which they share with La Charite and Lorient. SO Maritime Boulogne will face league's second-placed Gries/Oberhoffen in Bischwiller in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
