Regular Season Round 30: Handlova - Levice 100-85

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Levice (21-9) against eighth ranked Handlova (8-22) on Saturday night. Visiting Levice was defeated by Handlova in Handlova 100-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Levice. Handlova shot 68.4 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Marcus Tyus (185-94, college: Omaha) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian center Bojan Stanojevic (203-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Handlova players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Miha Vasl (192-92, agency: PEPI SPORT) replied with 18 points and Serbian Milivoje Mijovic (200-91, agency: 011 Sports) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Levice. Levice's coach Teo Hojc rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Handlova maintains eighth position with 8-22 record. Levice at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. Handlova will play against higher ranked Prievidza (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Levice will play against Zilina and hopes to get back on the winning track.
