Second Stage Round 2: Banska Bystrica - Samorin 43-67

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when Samorin (5-3) crushed on the road Banska Bystrica (5-3) 67-43 on Saturday. Samorin dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Banska Bystrica's 26. The former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St.) notched 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Timea Sujova (173-84) supported her with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Samorin players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 6 rebounds by Austrian point guard Laura van-Dalen (168-87) did not help to save the game for Banska Bystrica. Center Beata Jassova (190-93) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Samorin will meet at home Slovan (#8) in the next round. Banska Bystrica will play against UKF Nitra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
