Very important is a road loss of third ranked Sleza Wroclaw (11-4) against seventh ranked Energa Torun (9-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Sleza Wroclaw was crushed by Energa Torun in Torun 72-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sleza Wroclaw. Energa Torun made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Energa Torun had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Alexis Hornbuckle (180-85, college: Tennessee) stepped up and scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and international Agnieszka Skobel (180-89) chipped in 19 points. Energa Torun's coach Algirdas Paulauskas felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk (188-89) scored 11 points. Energa Torun moved-up to sixth place, which they share with AZS UMCS. Defending champion Sleza Wroclaw keeps the third position with four games lost. Energa Torun will play against MKK Siedlce (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sleza Wroclaw will play against TS Ostrovia (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
