Very important is a road loss of second ranked FC Barcelona (12-7) against fifth ranked Baskonia (12-7) on Sunday night. Visiting FC Barcelona was crushed by Baskonia in Vitoria 96-72. The game was mostly controlled by Baskonia. FC Barcelona was better in third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding FC Barcelona to just 7 points in first quarter. FC Barcelona was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for French guard Rodrigue Beaubois (185-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Baskonia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated FC Barcelona. Baskonia will play against Unicaja Malaga (#5) at home in the next round.
