Regular Season Round 23: Shimane SM - Toshiba BT 75-100

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Toshiba Thunders (22-12) crushed on the road 6th ranked Shimane Magic (7-27) 100-75 on Sunday. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Shimane Magic's 42. It was a great shooting night for Toshiba Thunders especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 23 points and 8 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and Kimitake Sato (186-84) added 21 points in the effort for Shimane Magic. Toshiba Thunders maintains third place with 22-12 record having five points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Shimane Magic lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with 27 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Yokohama BC (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
