An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. First ranked Toyotsu FE faced 3rd placed Yamagata. Host Toyotsu FE (22-12) defeated guests from Yamagata (15-19) 78-69. American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyotsu FE have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-12 record. Yamagata lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with 19 games lost. Toyotsu FE will play against league's leader Fukuoka Rizing on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yamagata will play against the league's leader Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
