Very important is a road loss of third ranked Montegrano (13-6) against sixth ranked Tezenis Verona (12-7) on Sunday night. Visiting Montegrano was crushed by Tezenis Verona in Verona 96-71. Tezenis Verona shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Andrea Amato (190-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Phil Greene-IV (187-92, college: St.John's) helped adding 26 points and 5 assists. Four Tezenis Verona players scored in double figures. Tezenis Verona's coach Luca Dalmonte felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80, agency: Interperformances) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Tezenis Verona maintains sixth place in A2 with 12-7 record. Newly promoted Montegrano keeps the third position with six games lost. Tezenis Verona will play against Dinamica MNV (#8) in Mirandola in the next round. Montegrano will play at home against Treviso Basket (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
