Regular Season Round 36: Aaguacateros - Toros 102-56

Date: February 4, 2018
The game between fifth ranked Aaguacateros (17-15) and 6th ranked Toros (16-17) in Michoacan on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Aaguacateros outscored guests from Nuevo Laredo 102-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toros. They outrebounded Toros 42-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aaguacateros looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aaguacateros made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) who scored that evening 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Dominican guard Juan Coronado (193-83) supported him with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Four Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) did not help to save the game for Toros. His fellow American import point guard Jerime Anderson (187-89, college: UCLA) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aaguacateros maintains fifth position with 17-15 record. Loser Toros keep the sixth place with 17 games lost. Aaguacateros will meet higher ranked Fuerza Regia (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toros will have a break next round.
