Regular Season Round 21: Politechnika Gd. - Gniezno 60-59

The most exciting game of round 21 in the 2Liga took place in Gdansk. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Gniezno (11-9) to sixth ranked AZS PGd (11-9) 60-59 in the game for the seventh place. The best player for the winners was center Filip Pruefer (208-96) who scored 6 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Adam Brenk (193-95) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Dariusz Dobrzycki (193-84) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Marek Sobkowiak (200-86) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Gniezno's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. AZS PGd have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory AZS PGd went down to seventh position (Group A) due to points difference, which they share with defeated Gniezno. AZS PGd is looking forward to face higher ranked Domino Inowr. (#6) in Inowroclaw in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gniezno will play at home against the league's leader Pelplin where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
