Regular Season Round 19: Anwil - PGE Turow 98-74

Leader Anwil delivered the eighteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked PGE Turow (11-10) 98-74 in Wloclawek. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. PGE Turow managed to win second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil forced 19 PGE Turow turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a great evening for Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Croatian center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport) helped adding 14 points. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Kacper Borowski (205-94) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anwil (18-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. PGE Turow lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Anwil will meet Czarni (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. PGE Turow will play against the league's second-placed Twarde Pierniki (#2) and hope to secure a win.
