An interesting game for Adelaide 36ers (16-10) which hosted in Findon second-ranked Perth Wildcats (15-10). Third ranked Adelaide 36ers managed to get a 12-point victory 94-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Perth Wildcats. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Adelaide 36ers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Perth Wildcats' 40. 27 personal fouls committed by Perth Wildcats helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International swingman Mitch Creek (195-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (210-88, college: Pepperdine) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Adelaide 36ers players scored in double figures. The former international center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Bryce Cotton (185-92, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Perth Wildcats. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Adelaide 36ers moved-up to second place. Defending champion Perth Wildcats dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Adelaide 36ers are looking forward to face Illawarra Hawks (#5) in Gwynneville in the next round. Perth Wildcats will play at home against Cairns Taipans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
