Regular Season Round 24: Fujitsu RW - Hitachi Cougars 105-76

Not a big story in a game in Kawasaki where 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (8-16) were rolled over by sixth ranked Fujitsu RW (15-9) 105-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fujitsu RW. Hitachi Cougars managed to win fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujitsu RW shot 61.7 percent from the field and made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Fujitsu RW outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 46-22 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hitachi Cougars' players. The best player for the winners was international point guard Rui Machida (161-93) who scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) chipped in 22 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fujitsu RW maintains sixth position with 15-9 record. Loser Hitachi Cougars keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. Fujitsu RW will meet higher ranked Chanson V-M (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi Cougars will play against the league's leader JX-Eneos S. in Kashiwa and hope to secure a win.
