Regular Season Round 24: Toyota A. - Chanson V-M 81-52

The game between Top Four teams took place in Nagoya. Third ranked host Toyota A. (19-5) smashed 4th ranked Chanson V-M (16-8) 81-52. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Chanson V-M. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Chanson V-M managed to win second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyota A. dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Chanson V-M's 22 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Chanson V-M 49-30 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) who added 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) with 17 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Kazumi Suzuki (177-86) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota A. moved-up to second place, which they share with Denso Iris. Chanson V-M at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Mitsubishi K.. Toyota A. is looking forward to face Yamanashi QB (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chanson V-M will play against Fujitsu RW (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
