Regular Season Round 16: Maccabi T-A - Maccabi Rishon 85-74

Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (13-3) managed to deliver another win on Monday. This time they beat seventh ranked Maccabi Rishon (7-9) in Tel-Aviv 85-74. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Maccabi Rishon managed to win fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international Jake Cohen (208-90, college: Davidson) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American-Tunisian Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) who added 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American Mark Tollefsen (206-92, college: Arizona) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi T-A maintains first position with 13-3 record. Maccabi Rishon at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Ironi Nahariya. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face Maccabi Ashdod (#4) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Holon and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
