The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Hapoel Afula's (3-14) home loss to twelfth ranked Maccabi K/M (7-10) 79-84 on Tuesday. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi K/M especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Kenny Hall (206-90, college: Tennessee) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Folarin Campbell (189-86, college: George Mason) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and guard Chester Simmons (196-82, college: Washington) added 22 points, 6 assists and 6 steals respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi K/M moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Hapoel K/S and Elitzur Yavne. Hapoel Afula lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Maccabi K/M will face higher ranked Maccabi K/G (#4) in Kiryat Gat in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Afula will play on the road against Elitzur Yavne (#9) and hope to win that game.
