Regular Season Round 17: Hapoel Galilee - Hapoel K/S 77-89

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kazrin, where higher ranked Hapoel Galilee (10-6) lost at home to tenth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (7-10) 77-89 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hapoel Galilee. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Byron Wesley (196-92, college: Gonzaga, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Hapoel Kfar Saba players scored in double figures. Hapoel Kfar Saba's coach Yossi Bonen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Brandon Edwards (198-91, college: Texas Arlington) produced 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field) and swingman Courtney Fells (197-86, college: N.Carolina St.) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Hapoel Kfar Saba moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Maccabi K/M and Elitzur Yavne. Loser Hapoel Galilee keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Hapoel Kfar Saba will face Hasharon (#12) in Hod Hasharon in the next round. Hapoel Galilee will play on the road against Hapoel B/S (#3) in Beer Sheva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
