Regular Season Round 31: Korihait - Salon Vilpas 92-112

Leader Salon Vilpas delivered the twenty fourth victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked UU-Korihait (6-21) 112-92 in Uusikaupunki. The game without a history. Salon Vilpas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to UU-Korihait's 36. Salon Vilpas looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Jaylon Brown (183-94, college: Evansville) helped adding 16 points. At the losing side guard Marius Van-Andringa (189-94) responded with 21 points and American guard Kevin Bracy-Davis (201, college: Davis & Elkins) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Salon Vilpas and four UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salon Vilpas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 24-6 record. Loser UU-Korihait keeps the tenth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Lapua. Salon Vilpas will meet at home BC Nokia (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. UU-Korihait will play against Kauhajoki and hope to secure a win.
