Regular Season Round 20: Asseco - Legia 90-78

Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Asseco (11-10) defeated bottom-ranked Legia (2-21) in Gdynia 90-78 on Wednesday. Asseco made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Legia was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Jakub Garbacz (197-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Asseco players scored in double figures. American guard Anthony Beane (188-94, college: S.Illinois, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 34 points (!!!) and his fellow American import forward Hunter Mickelson (208-92, college: Kansas, agency: 3Eye) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Legia. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Asseco maintains ninth position with 11-10 record. Legia lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 21 lost games. Asseco will face GTK (#13) in Gliwice in the next round.
