Regular Season Round 21: San Miniato - Cecina 55-73

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked San Miniato (10-11) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Cecina (10-11) 73-55 on Wednesday. Cecina made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 San Miniato turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized Senegalese Samuel Gaye-Serigne (198-96) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Leonardo Salvadori (198-93, agency: Players Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four Cecina players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Roberto Bertolini (198-86, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 10 points and 6 rebounds and guard Tommaso Tempestini (180-87, agency: Players Group) added 8 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cecina moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Cecina will face Omnia Basket (#8) in Pavia in the next round.
