Serie A2 top team - Novipiu Casale (16-4) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat ninth ranked Agrigento (9-11) 75-64. Novipiu Casale had a 30-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) who added 8 points and 7 assists during the contest. American forward Jalen Cannon (198-93, college: St.Francis, NY) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St., agency: Interperformances) scored 7 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Novipiu Casale maintains first position in A2 with 16-4 record. Loser Agrigento dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. Novipiu Casale will face Virtus Roma (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Agrigento will play against Cagliari Academy (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
