There was an upset when higher ranked Desio (10-11) was edged on the road by sixteenth ranked Volpino (3-18) 61-58 on Wednesday. Volpino had a 38-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Francesco Gorreri (192-95) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian swingman Armin Mazic (199-93) chipped in 9 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Dominican guard Daniel Perez (185-97, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Carlo Fumagalli (188-96) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Desio's coach Fabrizio Frates tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Volpino maintains sixteenth place in B with 3-18 record. Loser Desio dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Volpino will face higher ranked Tessilform Bernareggio (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
