Regular Season Round 18: Bullets - Hawks 99-91

Date: February 8, 2018
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Brisbane where 6th ranked Illawarra Hawks (10-16) were defeated by seventh ranked Bullets (9-17) 99-91 on Thursday. Bullets made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Illawarra Hawks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Travis Trice (183-93, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Bullets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Demitrius Conger (196-90, college: St.Bonaventure) with 21 points and his fellow American import point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) scored 20 points. Illawarra Hawks' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bullets maintains seventh position with 9-17 record, which they share with Kings. Illawarra Hawks lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. Bullets will face league's second-placed Adelaide 36ers in Findon in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
