Regular Season Round 18: Pyrinto II - Porvoon Tarmo 94-82

Very expected game when 11th ranked Porvoon Tarmo (4-15) lost to sixth ranked Pyrinto II (11-7) in Tampere 82-94 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Pyrinto II. Porvoon Tarmo was better in fourth quarter 30-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Pyrinto II looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for swingman Antti Keski-Koukkari (192-90) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Toni Savino (182-92) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Joona Tuomala (197-97) replied with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Juho Gummerus (201-97) added 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) in the effort for Porvoon Tarmo. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Pyrinto II maintains sixth position in Division with 11-7 record. Loser Porvoon Tarmo keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Pyrinto II will face higher ranked ToPo (#3) in Helsinki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Porvoon Tarmo will play at home against the league's second-placed Ura Basket (#2) and hope to win that game.
