There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Gimnasia LP (11-13) edged higher ranked Ciclista (11-12) in La Plata 76-73 on Thursday. Ciclista was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 21-16 charge of Gimnasia LP, which allowed them to win the game. Matias Sesto (190-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Brandon Nazione (202-94, college: E.Michigan) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Brazilian forward Rodrigo Goncalves (203-87) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Xavier Carreras (198-94) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ciclista. Gimnasia LP moved-up to eighth place in South. Loser Ciclista keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Gimnasia LP will have a break next round.
