Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Giulianova (10-11) outscored at home 16th ranked Ortona (3-18) 70-47 on Thursday. Giulianova made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Giulianova outrebounded Ortona 37-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Daniele Tomasello (203-93) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Nicola Bastone (196-92) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Giulianova players scored in double figures. Giulianova's coach Davide Tisato felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Danilo Petrovic (203-99) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Alex Martelli (195-91) added 9 points respectively. Giulianova moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Loser Ortona keeps the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Giulianova will face league's second-placed Recanati at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ortona will play against Perugia (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
