Regular Season Round 19: Cactus Tbilisi - Olimpi 85-68

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Cactus Tbilisi (#4) and Olimpi (#5). Cactus Tbilisi (10-7) crushed visiting Olimpi (9-8) by 17 points 85-68. The game was mostly controlled by Cactus Tbilisi. Olimpi was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Olimpi 48-23 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Deondre Parks (185-92, college: S.Dakota St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Terik Bridgeman (198, college: William Pater.) contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Cactus Tbilisi players scored in double figures. Point guard Givi Bakradze (180-91) answered with 26 points and American forward Maurius Hill (196-94, college: UALR) added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals in the effort for Olimpi. Cactus Tbilisi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 10-7 record. Olimpi lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Batumi. Cactus Tbilisi will play against DELTA (#8) in Marneuli in the next round. Olimpi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Sokhumi.
