Second Stage Round 8: Union SF - Hindu 97-89

Date: February 8, 2018
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Hindu (15-12) against tenth ranked Union SF (12-13) on Thursday night. Visiting Hindu was defeated by Union SF in a tough game in Santa Fe 89-97. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hindu. Hindu was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Haitian-American forward James Cambronne (201-91, college: St.Michael's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and Andres Mariani (188-87) who added 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Cambronne is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St.) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and forward Pablo Fernandez (198-82) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Five Hindu players scored in double figures. Union SF moved-up to ninth place in North. Hindu at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Union SF will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hindu will play at home against the league's second-placed Obera TC and will have a slim chance for a victory.
