Regular Season Round 37: Jiangsu TX MK - Tianjin GL 109-123

An interesting game took place in Jiangsu where higher ranked Monkey Kings (15-22) were upset on its own court by nineteenth ranked Gold Lions (7-30) 123-109 on Friday. Gold Lions forced 20 Monkey Kings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 assists for the winners. chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. American forward JJ Hickson (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists and Guo Yifei (202-93) added 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Gold Lions and four Monkey Kings players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gold Lions moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with Jilin NE T. Monkey Kings lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Shanxi BD and Fujian S.. Gold Lions will meet at home higher ranked Golden Stars (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monkey Kings will play against Brave Dragons (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
