Regular Season Round 18: Tokyo Cinq R. - Aisin AW 90-100

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Tokyo Cinq R.'s (3-19) home loss to seventh ranked Aisin AW (8-14) 90-100 on Friday. Aisin AW made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Aisin AW especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Yuki Ishihara (180-91) who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Kei Kato (172-93) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Aisin AW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) who recorded 30 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and his fellow American import forward Drew Martin (203-94, college: Concordia, OR) added 26 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Tokyo Cinq R.'s coach Joe Navarro gave the chance to play for thirteen players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aisin AW maintains seventh position with 8-14 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 19 games lost. Aisin AW will face higher ranked Tokyo Excel. (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Kagoshima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
