Regular Season Round 21: Hamar - Skallagrimur 100-111

The game between Top Four teams took place in Hamar. 4th placed host Hamar (13-5) lost to first ranked Skallagrimur (16-3) 111-100. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hamar. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 74-57 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Skallagrimur dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hamar's 46. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was Kristofer Gislason (195-96) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Skallagrimur's coach Finnur Jonsson used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Julian Nelson (196, college: Coker) who recorded 25 points and the other American import guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Skallagrimur have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-3 record. Loser Hamar keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Skallagrimur will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hamar will play against Snaefell (#5) in Stykkisholmur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
