Regular Season Round 37: Guangzhou LL - Liaoning FL 120-114

The game between second ranked Flying Leopards (28-9) and ninth ranked Long-Lions (21-16) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Flying Leopards were defeated by Long-Lions in a tough game in Guangzhou 114-120. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Flying Leopards. 28 personal fouls committed by Flying Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and forward Tyler Hansbrough (206-85, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 18 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the losing side Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: Dutt Sports Services) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Flying Leopards' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Long-Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain ninth place with 21-16 record. Flying Leopards at the other side keep the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Guangdong ST. Long-Lions are looking forward to face higher ranked Leopards (#8) in Shenzhen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Flying Leopards will play on the road against Guandong Tigers (#3) in Dongguan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
