Regular Season Round 19: Saint-Chamond - Nancy 79-75

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Saint Chamond and 7th ranked Sluc Nancy had identical 12-6 record. This time Saint Chamond used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Nancy 79-75. Sluc Nancy was ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 27-14 charge of Saint Chamond, which allowed them to win the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Saint Chamond brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Jonathan Hoyaux (195-88) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (205-83) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side. American guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: Grand Canyon) came up with 20 points, 9 assists and 6 steals (made all of his seven free throws) and Cameroonian forward Narace Williams (201-97) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Sluc Nancy in the defeat. Saint Chamond have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Roanne and Lille. Sluc Nancy at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Saint Chamond's next round opponent will be ALM Evreux (#10) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Sluc Nancy will play against Provence Basket and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
