Not a big story in a game in Aix-les-Bains where 13th ranked Aix-Maurienne (6-13) was outplayed by fifth ranked Chorale de Roanne (13-6) 79-59. Aix-Maurienne was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 54-26 second half run of Chorale de Roanne. It was an exceptional evening for American David Jackson (195-86, college: W.Illinois) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 4 assists. American-Kenyan forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side. Four Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. American power forward Curtis Kelly (208-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Kevin Corre (203-85) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Aix-Maurienne in the defeat. Aix-Maurienne's coach Fabien Romeyer rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Saint-Chamond and Lille. Aix-Maurienne at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Chorale de Roanne's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Charleville-Mezieres (#18) on the road which should be another easy win for them. Aix-Maurienne will play against SPO Rouen (#9) and hope to win that game.
