Regular Season Round 17: Parnu - Rapla 70-75

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Parnu (7-13) was defeated at home by third ranked Rapla (11-8) 75-70 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Parnu won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international Gert Dorbek (193-85) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Dominique Hawkins (183-94, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Serbian power forward Nemanja Miljkovic (204-90) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and forward Karl-Johan Lips (198-96) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rapla maintains third place with 11-8 record having seven points less than leader Kalev/Cramo. Loser Parnu keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Rapla will face TLU/Kalev (#5) in Tallinn in the next round. Parnu will play on the road against TTU in Tallinn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
