Regular Season Round 15: Podravac - Split 49-73

There was a minor upset in Virje where 4th placed Podravac (7-6) was crushed by sixth ranked ZKK Split (8-6) 73-49. The game without a history. ZKK Split led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. ZKK Split forced 26 Podravac turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Josipa Silov (171-98) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Maja Puljic (170-93) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four ZKK Split players scored in double figures. Petra Simunic (-93) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Dijana Bukovcan (-92) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Podravac in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ZKK Split moved-up to fourth place. Podravac at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Ragusa. ZKK Split will play against higher ranked Pula C.Tours (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Podravac will play against Ragusa in Dubrovnik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
